Meet Mrs. Martinez!
Hello and welcome to kindergarten! I am so thrilled to be your child's teacher and to be your partner as we embark on the first year of your child's learning journey.
My name is Mikaela and I have been teaching kindergarten at Northwest Expedition Academy since our doors opened. I am passionate about project-based learning, love that our school believes in full inclusion, and that we nurture the whole child. In our classroom community we will focus on creating a family unit that works together, builds one another up, explores our shared curiosities, and empowers each learner. I believe not only in your child growing academically, but also growing in their confidence and kindness.
When I am not teaching kindergarten you can find me spending every minute with my husband of 8 years, Mario, and our goofy daughter, Alma who is 2 1/2! We also have 2 dogs, a Dalmatian named Franklin and a Mini Dachshund named Napoleon, your children will learn all about them as we learn to write books together. Our family likes to go on walks, play at the park and the beach, ride bikes, read books, enjoy music, and go on road trips!
